A link to an online submission portal will be sent to you on 26th May 2021. This will give you access to the relevant declaration form, which should be returned to 3Keel by 11th June 2021.

A webinar will be broadcast on 26th May 2021 at 10am BST to introduce the submission portal and provide an overview on how to complete your declaration– click here to register. Ample time will be available during this session to answer any questions you have.

The webinar will be recorded and made available to you via a web link sent after the event should you be unable to attend, and will also be available on the submission portal homepage.

Guidance will also be provided on the online form for each data point that is requested in addition to a ‘live chat’ function to speak directly with the 3Keel team.

Direct animal proteins – such as beef, pork, chicken – and products that use such animals in their production – such as chicken korma ready meals – are all considered livestock products. “Livestock-based” products include these proteins and extend the categorisation to other products that come from livestock (e.g. milk and eggs).

All fresh and frozen products (e.g. chicken breast, steak) should be reported.

You should sample your suppliers to determine what their sourcing practices are for soymeal in feed. The specific number to be sampled should be agreed between 3Keel and your company to be practical within the timeframe of the questionnaire and the feasibility of collecting the information (if not known). The sampling template can be downloaded on the main portal homepage.

Please contact us at soy@3keel.com to discuss this further.

You should only return one form to 3Keel covering all your relevant sites and operations. Where multiple persons may be reporting information, you may use the declaration internally to collect data from various parts of the business, but this information should then be consolidated into a single final form that you then send to 3Keel.

Total protein weight supplied to McDonald’s UK & ROI during the 2020 calendar year. This includes soy as well as livestock-based ingredients (e.g. dairy, meat, eggs). Please note: we do not want the nutritional protein weight of the ingredient, rather the total weight of the ingredient (I.E. we want the total volume of milk, not the total protein nutritional weight of the milk).

Direct forms of soy (e.g. soy lecithin, soy milk) are also within scope of this reporting process. If you have not supplied any of our own brand products that contain livestock-based products – neither as a raw material nor an ingredient – you have probably been flagged as your product contains soy directly as an ingredient.

If you are unsure, please contact 3Keel to confirm.

All data is to be provided for McDonald’s own-brand livestock-based products supplied between 1st January 2020 and 31st December 2020. The data is relevant only to McDonald’sand should not relate to your overall company procurement practices.

Only provide data for the products that are supplied to McDonald’s UK and Ireland.

No information should be supplied for manufacturing sites or livestock that are not supplied to McDonald’s UK and Ireland.

All fresh and frozen products (e.g. chicken breast, burger) should be reported.

The declaration form and supporting evidence will be completed and submitted through a web-based portal.

You will receive a link over email to access the portal. Where you have reported information previously, 3Keel will pre-populate this data in your secure part of the system that is linked to a named individual / email address. If you are not the person that reported previously for your business, please let 3Keel know and they will make the appropriate adjustment.

In order to log into the portal for the first time, you will need to reset your password. You can do this by clicking on the “forgot my password” link on the portal login screen. Then just enter your email address. If you do not receive a password reset link within half an hour, please get in touch with the 3Keel on Soy@3Keel.com.

If you’re having any difficulties with the online portal, you can get in touch with the 3Keel team via the live chat option at the bottom right-hand corner of the submission portal page. Just click on the speech bubble icon and type your question.

If you ask a question within UK office hours, a member of the 3Keel team will pick this up within a few minutes.
