McCain Beef FAQs
1. Which suppliers and products are in scope for this data reporting round?
All suppliers of beef for McCain’s own-brand and branded products.
All beef suppliers are also required to submit a declaration form for soy in feed.
2. What information will we need to supply?
Suppliers are expected to provide the following information:
- Volume of beef supplied
- Product commercial category
- Their direct supplier (i.e., second tier to McCain)
- Primary processor
- Livestock production country
- Name of first importer/ trader in supply chain, if not themselves.
3. What evidence do we need to provide for our deforestation and conversion free claims?
Please submit the evidence as outline in the table below.

4. When do we need to respond with information?
The data submission portal will be open from 8th September 2025 – 26th September 2025.
5. What time period do we need to provide data for?
All data is to be provided for the 2025 fiscal year, i.e. 1st July 2024 – 30th June 2025.
6. Should I provide details for my whole business?
Only provide data for the products that are supplied to McCain as specified in question 1. The data is relevant only to the specific McCain countries and should not relate to your overall company procurement practices. If you supply multiple countries for McCain, then you must separately declare each country by adding individual submissions.
No information should be supplied for manufacturing sites or livestock that are not supplied to McCain. If you are not able to split out your feed or soy information between companies, contact 3Keel and they will be able to develop a solution with you.
7. I haven’t supplied any products to McCain outlined in the scope in question 1 above. Why are you contacting me?
If you have not supplied any of the products outlined in the scope in question 1 above, please declare to 3Keel via email to data.services@3keel.com why you are out of scope of this exercise. 3Keel will then confirm this directly with McCain.
8. We have multiple sites within our group producing the listed products. How should we report these figures?
You should only return one submission per business entity to us covering all your relevant sites and operations supplying McCain. If your business has multiple operation regions, please only report volumes supplied from the region listed in the portal under your log in name. Please reach out to data.services@3keel.com if you need any guidance. For example, if you have one entity in LATAM and one entity in Europe, you should submit one submission for each entity.
9. Will there be any guidance on how to complete the declaration?
Recorded videos are available on the landing page of the platform. These will introduce the submission portal and provide an overview on how to complete your declaration.
10. Who should I contact if I have questions regarding what information is required?

11. Do I need to include all beef-based products?
Yes, please include all beef-based products you supply to McCain, including:
- whole animal protein livestock products (e.g., beef), as well as,
- products containing animal protein ingredients (e.g., beef in a meatball).
If you are reporting volumes on your beef volumes, you also need to complete a Soy in Feed declaration to understand the embedded soy within the animal feed.
12. Who owns the data we submit and will it be treated confidentially?
Data ownership remains with McCain, 3Keel are data processors only. All data submitted through this data collection will remain confidential.
