1) What information will we need to supply?
The type of information 3Keel will request will depend on the availability of information you have considering your supply chain role:

- Certification status of your production sites feeding animals.
- Feed consumed by retailer-relevant livestock by your company that are used in the products you supply us. Data must include:
- Name of the feed supplier.
- Name of the company importing the soy to Europe (if different).
- Total tonnage of protein supplied, by type of protein. This should only be the volume that is used specifically in our products; not across your entire operations.
- Total feed used to produce relevant protein, and associated soymeal content per tonne.
- Country of origin of soymeal and sub-national origin if available (e.g. state or municipality)
- Soymeal certification status.

2) When will we ultimately need to respond with information?
A link to an online submission portal will be sent to you over email. This will give you access to the relevant declaration form, which must be returned to 3Keel by 8th October 2021.
3) Will there be any guidance on how to complete the declaration?
A webinar will be broadcast on 15th September 2021 at 12:00 CET to introduce the submission portal and provide an overview on how to complete your declaration. Ample time will be available during this session to answer any questions you have.
The webinar will be recorded and made available to you via a web link sent after the event should you be unable to attend, and will also be available on the submission portal homepage.
Guidance will also be provided on the online form for each data point that is requested in addition to a ‘live chat’ function to speak directly with the 3Keel team.
4) How do I access the submission portal?
The declaration form and supporting evidence will be completed and submitted through a web-based portal.
You will receive a link over email to access the portal. Where you have reported information previously, we will pre-populate this data in your secure part of the system that is linked to a named individual / e-mail address. If you are not the person that reported last year, please let us know and we will make the appropriate adjustment.
In order to log into the portal for the first time, you will need to reset your password. You can do this by clicking on the “forgot my password” link on the portal login screen. Then just enter your email address. If you do not receive a password reset link within half an hour, please get in touch with the 3Keel on Soy@3Keel.com.
Please note: the password reset email is an autogenerated email from the submission portal, so please check your junk folder.
5) I am having problems completing my declaration / uploading my evidence, what should I do?
If you’re having any difficulties with the online portal, you can get in touch with the 3Keel team via the live chat option at the bottom corner of the submission portal page. Just click on the speech bubble icon and type your question.
If you ask a question within European office hours, a member of the 3Keel team will pick this up within a few minutes. If it is outside of these hours, or there is no one available to answer your question, you will be given the option to enter your email address so that someone can get back to you as soon as possible.
6) What is a “livestock-based” product?
Direct animal proteins – such as beef, pork, chicken – and products that use such animals in their production – such as chicken korma ready meals – are all considered livestock products. “Livestock-based” products include these proteins and extend the categorisation to other products that come from livestock (e.g. milk and eggs).
7) Do I need to include all livestock-based products?
All livestock products (e.g. chicken breast, steak, milk, eggs, etc) should be reported.
8) There are hundreds of farms that supply us. How should I get this feed information?
You should sample your suppliers to determine what their sourcing practices are for soymeal in feed. The specific number to be sampled should be agreed between 3Keel and your company to be practical within the timeframe of the questionnaire and the feasibility of collecting the information (if not known). Please contact us at soy@3keel.com to discuss this further.
9) Do I provide details for my whole business?
Only provide data for the products that are supplied to Lidl and their associated markets in the declaration. If you supply multiple markets for Lidl (e.g. UK, Germany), then you must separately declare each market.
No information should be supplied for manufacturing sites or livestock that are not supplied to the named retailers and markets. If you are not able to split out your feed or soymeal information between retailers, contact 3Keel and they will be able to develop a solution with you.
10) What are the information boundaries we should use for determining volumes?
All data is to be provided for Lidl own-brand livestock-based products supplied between 1 March 2020 and 28 February 2021. The data is relevant only to Lidl and should not relate to your overall company procurement practices.
11) We have multiple sites within our group producing livestock or livestock-based products. How should we report these figures?
You should only return one form to us covering all your relevant sites and operations. Where multiple persons may be reporting information, you may use the declaration internally to collect data from various parts of the business, but this information should then be consolidated into a single final form that you then send to 3Keel.
12) I haven’t supplied any own brand products containing animal proteins. Why are you contacting me?
If you have not supplied any of our own brand products that contain livestock-based products – neither as a raw material nor an ingredient – please declare to 3Keel that you are out of scope for this exercise. No further action will be required once you have made this declaration.
13) How will my data be stored?
To read our full Privacy Policy, please follow this link here.
14) Can my business have multiple users log-in to the same account?
Yes. You can share your log-in details with your relevant colleagues in order to help coordinate data collection.
15) We are an international company, for ease of international coordination, can we have separate log-in accounts?
We will endeavour to make this year’s reporting process as simple as possible for you and your colleagues. Please email us if you feel that this question applies to you and we can discuss this in more detail.
16) Who do I contact if I have questions regarding what information is required?
